You sew your wings of self love
When you opened your eyes that morning,
you saw that they'd cut your wings
And threw you in a cage, starving you of all that you loved
Craving you of who you so boldly were
Locked you in a cellar, and burnt your wings of passion
Ablazed your white dress, and filled your wardrobe with black ones
seared your body with self-hatred
sew in your skin self harm
And everytime you looked in their eyes
They'd whip your arms and pinch your skin
They cut your river-like hair till your ears
They'd bleed you with cuts, and laugh to your cries
But oh my darling at night, you fused every atom you found
Picked yourself from the slag they left you in
Looked at the moon and threaded your own needle
And sew your dress of bravery and self love
For when the sun will rise
You'll emerge in your shift of courage, long it's trail of valour
With your scars shining so bright, the sun'll look pale
And one day they will look back,
And when they shall,
They'll see your wings unfurl
Of self love and gustiness
Of the luminescence mankind looked for in every open area
They'll see your pinon unfurl,
For you shall have sewn
Your own wings of self love
